<p>It is clear that we have an epidemic of obesity  in our country, and that, as we get used to seeing more overweight  people at work, in school and on the streets, we are accepting this  condition as reality, rather than working to change the situation.</p>
<p>For  this increase in childhood obesity we can blame our way of life first,  the car has replaced a lot of walking which was very important for our  hearts and muscle mass, most of us spend most of our free time in front  of the television or the computer, and most of the time we are in front  of these appliances we also indulge in eating fatty food such as pizza  and ice cream. Junk food has become an acceptable meal, what was once  considered a last option for children meal has become the default in  choosing our kids meals.</p>
<p>Lets consider the dangers of obesity, and  bare in mind that we usually think of adults when we talk about these  risks, which makes this even worst. Too little exercise.</p>
<p>And too  much of the wrong kind of food is associated with Type II diabetes, all  sorts of heart disease and blood pressure problems, joint problems  related to weight bearing, self esteem and confidence issues, high  cholesterol, mental problems such as depression and sleep disruption,  unstable mental stamina, pulmonary problems. The research in this field  points to one clear fact, if you are obese as a child you start a far  higher chance to be an obese adult, so childhood obesity is not some  childhood problematic phase that goes away after some time, childhood  obesity can lead to a very problematic adulthood.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is dedicated to explain fitness  related terms that are often misunderstood and misused. When discussing  fitness related topics, or any topic for that matter, it is important  for everyone to use the same terminology. Otherwise, using terms in  different ways can easily lead to a miscommunication or  misinterpretation of the information,  various terms that have specific meanings in the health in fitness, but  are often misused in all forms of media, even by people who call  themselves experts in the field.<a href="http://www.desolation.info/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fit.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-966" title="fit" src="http://www.desolation.info/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fit.jpg" alt="" width="220" height="229" /></a></p>
<p>The 4 terms covered today all  have something to do with lifting weights. People often think some of  these terms are the same, but they each have specific meanings and they  should not be used interchangeably.</p>
<p>1. Resistance Training &#8211; This  is a very general term that covers a wide variety of activities.  Resistance training includes any type of exercise where your muscles  have to overcome a resistance, regardless of the type of resistance  used. Naturally, any activity that involves lifting traditional weights  is a form of resistance training, because the weights are the  resistance, but weights are far from the only type of resistance.  Resistance can also come in the form of bands/cables, medicine balls,  etc. Even body weight exercises such as push-ups or squats are forms of  resistance training, because in those exercises certain muscles have to  overcome the weight of your body and your body acts as the resistance.  Technically, the term resistance training could be used to describe  virtually any type of exercise, but most people do not classify sporting  activities as resistance training, unless lifting weights is a primary  component of the sport. To simplify things, other than traditional  cardio exercises such as treadmill walking, virtually every exercise  performed in a gym type setting is considered resistance training.</p>
<p>2.  Weightlifting &#8211; This is probably the term that causes the most  confusion, even though it appears to be fairly self-explanatory. The  issue is that lifting weights is not the same as weightlifting. Lifting  weights does refer to any exercise that uses weights (meaning metal  weights or weight machines, usually not other forms of resistance).  Weightlifting, on the other hand, refers to a particular sport that  involves the competitive performance of two exercises: the clean and  jerk (one exercise) and the snatch. People often incorrectly refer to  weightlifting as Olympic lifting, but Olympic lifting actually only  refers to weightlifting during the Olympics. In other words, you  wouldn&#8217;t say that you were going outside to do some Olympic running or  going to the community pool for some Olympic swimming, but that is  exactly what people are doing when they refer to weightlifting as  Olympic lifting. Additionally someone should only be called a  weightlifter when they participate in the sport of weightlifting. For  instance, I have been lifting weights pretty much year-round for over 19  years and have included the weightlifting exercises in some of my  routines, but I would never call myself a weightlifter. There are a lot  of people who lift weights, but not many people who are actually  weightlifters.</p>
<p>3. Powerlifting &#8211; This term is similar to  weightlifting in the sense that it refers to a particular sport that  involves lifting weights, but people do not misuse this term nearly as  much as they do the term weightlifting. However, there are still a large  number of people who do not know what powerlifting actually is.  Powerlifting is a competition where a person performs 3 different  exercises: bench press, squat, and deadlift. As with weightlifting, the  goal is to perform only 1 rep of each exercise with as much weight as  possible. Competitors are given multiple attempts at each exercise and  the highest weight successfully completed for each exercise is added  together to produce the total score. There are also multiple weight  classes, as there are in boxing, so athletes of different weights and  sizes can all compete with a chance of winning. Also, the term  powerlifter only applies to someone who competes in the sport of  powerlifting.</p>
<p>4. Bodybuilding &#8211; Again, this is a term that refers  to a particular sport, but bodybuilding it is different from  weightlifting and powerlifting, because lifting weights is not the focus  of a bodybuilding competition. Bodybuilding does have different classes  of competitors just like weightlifting and powerlifting, but it is not  about the act of performing exercises as it is with the other sports.  Instead, competitors are judged on the way their body looks.  Bodybuilders have to perform a variety of different poses to show off  their body and they are judged on things like the size, definition (how  much their muscles stand out / having minimal fat), and symmetry  (proportion) of their muscles. People who are bodybuilders exercise  specifically to improve the way their body looks, so they can earn  higher scores in competition. Consequently, bodybuilders are more  concerned about how their body looks than how it actually functions.  This is one of the reasons why training for bodybuilding is very  different from training to improve athletic performance or general  health.</p>

<p>Nurses practice in a number of venues: Hospital settings, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and home health care. Home health care nursing is a growing phenomenon as more patients and their families desire to receive care in their homes. The history of home health care stems from Public Health Nursing where public health nurses made home visits to promote health education and provide treatment as part of community outreach programs. Today academic programs train nurses in home care and agencies place home health care nurses with ailing individuals and their families depending on the nurse&#8217;s experience and qualifications. In many cases there is a shared relationship between the agency and the academic institution.</p>
<p>Many changes have taken place in the area of home health care. These include Medicare and Medicaid, and Long Term Care insurance reimbursement and documentation. <p>Here is a listing of six common fitness terms and what they mean:</p>
<p>Abdominals: The group of muscles that make up your belly area.There are four major muscles that form the abdominals: the rectus abdominis, the external and internal obliques, and the pyramidalis muscle. The rectus abdominis is the muscle that runs down the center of your abdomen from top to bottom. The external and internal obliques are the muscles along the side of the abdomen. The internal obliques lie underneath the external obliques. Finally, the pyramidalis muscle is the small triangular shaped muscle in the lower abdomen that lies in front of the rectus abdominis.</p>
<p>Aerobic exercise: (aka cardio) Any exercise that raises your heart rate above your resting heart rate for a period of time. Most fitness experts state that in order to maintain good health, you should engage in at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity on most days of the week. For weight loss, you need between 45 minutes to an hour of cardio on most days of the week.</p>
<p>Basal Metabolic Rate: (Commonly abbreviated as BMR) The rate at which your body metabolizes (burns) calories when you are at complete rest, as when you are sleeping. Lean, muscular people have higher BMRs than do fatter people. This is because they have more lean muscle mass. Lean muscle burns fat at an increased rate, raising BMR.</p>
<p>Crunches: Exercises designed to strengthen and tone the abdominals. There are many different types of crunches, each designed to work a specific muscle in the abdominal group. Crunches alone will not give you a flat stomach, but they will strengthen your stomach muscles, providing you with better support for your spine.</p>
<p>Lean muscle mass: The percentage of your body composition that is lean muscle as opposed to other tissue such as fat. The greater your lean muscle mass, the faster your metabolism.</p>
<p>Strength training: Any activity, when done in repetitions and sets, that causes a particular muscle group to become fatigued. This fatigue will cause that muscle group to grow and become stronger.<a href="http://www.casinologo.co.uk"></a></p>
